About Hurdles Dyslexia Clinic Inc
Passion Meets Experience
Lynn Street founded Hurdles Dyslexia Clinic Inc with a mission close to her heart: to help struggling learners discover their strengths, develop essential reading and writing skills, and build the confidence they deserve.
Her journey began at home, as a mother raising a child with dyslexia. She experienced firsthand the frustration, uncertainty, and determination that comes with helping a child who learns differently. That personal connection inspired a lifelong commitment to finding effective, evidence-based teaching methods and advocating for students who often feel overlooked.
Our Teaching Approach
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we:
- Meet students where they are
- Adjust our teaching methods to their learning style
- Use proven programs like Barton Reading & Spelling System and Orton-Gillingham Approach
- Provide individualized online and in-person lessons
- Work alongside parents to ensure consistent support at home and school
Every session is a step forward — whether it’s mastering a new reading strategy, improving handwriting fluency, or gaining confidence in expressing ideas on paper.
Helping All Struggling Readers and Writers
While we are well known for our work with dyslexia, our reach is broader. We help
students of all ages who experience:
- Reading difficulties (with or without a diagnosis)
- Dyslexia
- Dysgraphia (handwriting and written expression challenges)
- Irlen Syndrome (light sensitivity affecting reading)
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to get started — we welcome anyone who is struggling with reading, writing, or spelling skills.
